ROADSIDE DRAINAGE SYSTEM:

Roadside drainage system, on any highway or street, should be well provided for the flow of water away from the surface of the highway from the properly designed channels. Improper drainage will ultimately result in serious damage to the highway structure. Also, The traffic may be low due to stored water on the surface and that can also cause accidents. The highway engineer is involved firstly with two sources of water which are surface water which comes with rain or snow upon the surface. And later on, some of this water will be observed in the ground and the remaining should be removed so that can be called surface drainage.

Types of roadside drainage or highway drainage:

Requirements of good highway drainage system:
